Water Trough and a Bird Pool in Kileleoni Wildlife Conservancy

Water Trough and a Bird Pool in Kileleoni Wildlife Conservancy

Maasai Mara ecosystem comprises of marginalized farmers who heavily rely on livestock for their livelihood. Thousands of livestock animals e.g. cows and sheep graze freely on the grazed lands. The weather is mostly hot and dry climate throughout the year except during the rainy season. Droughts are a common occurrence. Water shortage, especially during the dry season affects the cattle severely. Water4Wildlife constructed a water trough and a bird pool in the Kileleoni wildlife conservancy on the community level under the Water4Wildlife program #Water Is Life on 31st March 2023. These cattle watering troughs are strategically located in the village on the way to the fields. Sufficient water is always available in the watering trough and the bird’s pool and is reliable drinking water for all domestic animals and birds. The community is very much grateful for this initiative.
